Welcome to Mountaintop Mondays, a day reserved for briefly posting something wonderful, helpful, or perhaps the humorous side of our lives. There is always something to be thankful for, and it’s encouraging for me to take stock of these gems every single day. How about you?
Today Micah is beginning a week-long theater camp, Acting 101. It’s one of many summer camps offered by Fargo-Moorhead Community Theater (https://fmct.org). Micah’s passions in life are movies, music, and theater! I am so grateful that we live close to a large community that’s rich in these areas. There are several universities/colleges with theater departments, various theater companies, and many venues that host concerts of all kinds. This enhances his life greatly, not to mention mine. May I add that I am also thankful that Micah shares my love of the arts. We will be theater buddies for years to come!
This is the fourth FMCT camp that Micah has participated in. Last summer we enrolled Micah in “Wicked Meets Beetlejuice” followed by “Hamilton.” He had a few lines in the former–which he delivered on cue and with marvelous expression. Memorization comes easily for Micah; choreography, on the other hand, is a little trickier. But the staff was very patient with him, helping him as needed. His moves might have looked a little different than the others, but that’s okay—he’s not a cookie-cutter kind of guy.
I am thankful that FMCT is open to Micah being involved and that they appreciate him for being genuinely interested in theater, for his good humor, and for always being at the ready and open to learn. I know he will grow because of their inclusion of him. As will they.
Today this makes my heart sing.
